How to Care for Your Period Underwear

Love them. Wash them. Wear them again.

A little care goes a long way. Following these simple washing instructions will help protect the softness, fit, absorbency and leakproof layers of your EvaBody period underwear—so you can feel confident through every cycle.

The quick care guide

  • Rinse in cold water after wearing
  • Machine wash cold or at a maximum of 30°C
  • Use a mild detergent
  • Air dry only
  • Do not use fabric softener or bleach
  • Do not tumble dry, iron or dry clean

Always check the care label on your individual garment before washing.

How to wash your EvaBody period underwear

1. Rinse

After wearing, rinse your underwear under cold water until the water runs mostly clear.

Avoid hot water, as it can set stains and may affect the specialised absorbent layers.

2. Wash

Place your rinsed period underwear in the washing machine with similar colours. Select a cold or gentle cycle at a maximum of 30°C and use a mild laundry detergent.

A mesh laundry bag can provide additional protection for delicate lace, mesh and elasticated styles.

Prefer to wash by hand? Gently wash in cold water with a small amount of mild detergent. Avoid scrubbing, twisting or wringing the fabric.

3. Air dry

Gently reshape your underwear and hang or lay it flat to air dry completely before storing or wearing it again.

Drying time may vary depending on the absorbency level, as styles offering greater protection contain additional absorbent layers.

What to avoid

To help preserve the absorbency and leakproof performance of your period underwear, avoid:

  • Fabric softeners and dryer sheets
  • Bleach and harsh stain removers
  • Tumble drying
  • Ironing
  • Dry cleaning
  • Hot washes
  • Aggressive scrubbing, twisting or wringing

Fabric softener can leave a coating on the absorbent fibres, while excessive heat and harsh chemicals may damage the elastic and protective layers.

Before your first wear

Wash your EvaBody period underwear before wearing it for the first time. This helps remove any residue from the production process and prepares the absorbent layers for use.

Caring for period swimwear

After swimming, rinse your period swimwear as soon as possible in fresh, cold water to remove chlorine, salt water and sunscreen residue.

Wash it gently at a maximum of 30°C and allow it to air dry completely. Avoid leaving your swimwear rolled up or damp for an extended period.

Common care questions

Can I wash period underwear in the washing machine?

Yes. After rinsing, wash your period underwear with similar colours on a cold or gentle cycle at a maximum of 30°C. We recommend using a mesh laundry bag for delicate designs.

Can period underwear go in the dryer?

We recommend air drying only. High temperatures can affect the elastic, absorbent fabric and leakproof layers.

Can I use fabric softener?

No. Fabric softener can coat the absorbent fibres and reduce their ability to absorb effectively.
